This series reconstructs Maeng’s 2012 Berlin action painting archive. Using a custom algorithm, 100 fragments from original "foot-paintings" are sampled and reassembled via randomized logic. This generative process invites Pareidolia—the discovery of hidden faces within the chaotic textures of a 13-year-old record. While the artist identifies specific forms, the work remains an open-ended landscape for every collector to find their own narratives.
본 시리즈는 맹(Maeng) 작가가 2012년 베를린에서 작업한 액션 페인팅(Action Painting) 아카이브를 재구성한 작업입니다. 자체 제작한 알고리즘을 통해, 발을 사용해 작업한 원작('foot-paintings')에서 100개의 파편을 추출하고 이를 무작위 논리에 따라 새롭게 조합했습니다. 이러한 생성적 과정은 13년 전 기록의 무질서한 질감 속에서 숨겨진 형상을 찾아내는 ‘파레이돌리아(Pareidolia)’ 현상을 유도합니다. 작가는 그 안에서 특정한 형태를 식별해내지만, 작품 자체는 모든 컬렉터가 저마다의 서사를 발견할 수 있는 열린 풍경으로 남습니다.
