Berlin-Action-Painting-2012
Berlin-Action-Painting-2012 is the genesis archive of Jeongeun Maeng's Berlin action painting project and the original source material behind the generative NFT series Project-4-2-sai-2012.
This collection presents about 100 photographic artworks documenting original acrylic action paintings created in Berlin between July and September 2012. These NFTs are photographic works capturing physical paintings that still exist today—not digital paintings or AI-generated images.
Born from improvisation, Maeng played recordings of improvisational sessions with Berlin-based musicians as she responded through movement on the canvas. Acrylic colors were intuitively selected and applied, while footsteps, rhythm, and bodily energy became part of each composition. The completed paintings were then photographed as individual artworks.
This series was created as a core part of Project 4 2[sai:], a profoundly dedicated art project of that era exploring relationships and spaces between body and mind, people, cultures, artistic disciplines, and nature.
In 2025, fragments from these photographs became the foundation for the generative NFT series Project-4-2-sai-2012. This collection now reveals the complete photographic archive behind those fragments.
The original acrylic action paintings are currently exhibited at the Maeng Museum in Kreuzberg, Berlin, where improvisational music, performances, and artistic exchange continue to take place.

이 시리즈는 그 시절 깊은 공을 들였던 진중한 예술 프로젝트이자, 몸과 마음, 사람과 문화, 예술의 갈래와 자연 간의 관계 및 공간을 탐구했던 'Project 4 2[sai:]'의 핵심 부문으로서 탄생했습니다.
2025년, 이 100여장의 사진에서 추출된 이미지 조각들은 생성형 NFT 시리즈 Project-4-2-sai-2012의 기반이 되었습니다. 이번 컬렉션은 그 조각들의 근원이 된 완전한 사진 아카이브를 공개합니다.
원본 아크릴 액션 페인팅 작품들은 현재 독일 베를린 크로이츠베르크의 '맹 박물관(Maeng Museum)'에 전시되어 있으며, 그곳에서는 즉흥음악, 공연, 예술적 교류가 계속 이어지고 있습니다.
